Born in the Rocky Mountains and shaped by coal mining demands, we deliver readily available repair products that help return large OTR tires to service, extend tire service life, reduce replacement costs, and keep more tires out of landfills.

Our Foundation

Family-owned and operated, Elk Valley Patch Company builds in-house, handcrafted repair products for the OTR tire industry. With 50+ years of combined experience, our qualified section repair technicians support ongoing development and consistent field trials of proven repair materials.


Early 1980s: Section repair process developed and refined.
1980s: Gene Descoteaux (Dekota Tire Service) started the work in mining-industry tire repair.
1990s: Gene travelled extensively, exploring ways to save and extend the life of OTR tires.
2006: Bryce Seifrit joined (patch manufacturing & tire technician).
2010: Gene's son, Don Descoteaux, continued the enterprise as Elk Valley Patch Company and later shifted from tire technician work to focus on repair materials.
2010: Don's first overseas sales introduced our repairs to the international repair field.
2014: Expanded internationally; used worldwide today.
Spring 2025: Launched Global Patch and Supply to improve material sourcing and product availability.
